Mr. Stavros Lekkakos, President and CEO of Piraeus Bank Group Romania, was declared as the "Most Admired Business Leader" within the "Greek Round Table and Awards event organized by Bucharest Business Week Magazine on 25th February 2008. The distinction, offered by Mr. Varujan Pambuccian, President of IT & Telecommunications Commission, comes as a recognition of Mr. Lekkakos' leadership skills, creativity and committed hard work within Piraeus Bank Romania. In 2007, the Bank tripled its profit, assets as well as number of clients, while doubling its network at the same time.

Two days later, on 27th February, Piraeus Bank Romania was declared as the Bank with "The most dynamic network expansion" at a Round Table attended by Mr. Mugur Isarescu, Governor of NBR, as well as Mr. Varujan Vosganian, Minister of Economy and Finance. The prize, provided by Nine o'Clock daily, has been an additional recognition of Piraeus Bank Romania's fast and sound network expansion and development pace.

The ''e-finance Award Gala'', which took place on 4th March, brought the third distinction for Piraeus Bank Romania. The event was attended by the most important banking and IT players on the Romanian market, as well as Mr. Radu Gratian Ghetea, President of The Romanian Banks Association, whο was a special guest. Piraeus Bank Romania received an important public recognition for its e-banking platform, Piraeus Online Banking. The service was launched on the Romanian market in July 2007, offering comfort, speed and maximum of security to its users.
